The Eastern Cape Education Department and the Kouga Municipality finalised plans last week for the surfing town’s very first high school, something that has been in the pipeline for the past 10 years.
The long wait was due to the schools infrastructure backlog in the province.
The department’s infrastructure director, Zama Tom, said construction of the school was due to start next year and the first intake of pupils – initially only grades 8, 9 and 10, with the other grades to be introduced over time – was expected in 2014. Read more ...
