Politics or jobs, teachers told

Gauteng teachers who double as municipal councillors are being asked to choose between the chalkboard and a career in politics.

The principal of a top school in Ekurhuleni, east of Johannesburg, was told by the Gauteng Department of Education that he could not serve as a ward councillor and remain at the school, prompting his resignation from the council. Read more ...
