Ethics committee established for local councillors

The Kouga Municipal Council approved the establishment of an ethics committee at an ordinary council meeting on 31 October 2011.

The committee will be made up of three ANC and 2 DA councillors. Councillors Frances Baxter and Juline Prinsloo will represent the DA.

The functions of the ethics committee include articulation of acceptable ethics and values expected of local councillors, and making sure that they abide by them.
